The examples below use the sending domain mail.example.com. Always copy the record values from your domain page in the dashboard — they are unique to your domain.

Most providers ask for the record name relative to your root domain. For mail.example.com:

Record in the dashboardName to enter at most providers
<token>._domainkey.mail.example.com<token>._domainkey.mail
nc-bounce.mail.example.comnc-bounce.mail
_dmarc.mail.example.com_dmarc.mail
  1. In the Cloudflare dashboard, select your domain, then DNS → Records.
  2. Select Add record for each record. Choose the type, and paste the name and value.
  3. Set Proxy status to DNS only (grey cloud) for every CNAME record. Proxied records cannot be verified.
  4. For the MX record, set Priority to 10.
  5. Leave TTL on Auto and save.

Cloudflare accepts either the full name or the relative name.

Check your records

Before you verify, you can confirm a record is published from a terminal:

Terminal
dig +short CNAME <token>._domainkey.mail.example.com
dig +short MX nc-bounce.mail.example.com
dig +short TXT nc-bounce.mail.example.com

Each command should print the value from your dashboard. An empty result means the record is not visible yet, or its name is wrong. Then select Check status on the domain page — see Domain not verifying if a record stays pending.
